Yunnan University for Nationalities established Sports in 2000 and Sports College in 2003. After more than 20 years of development, it now has three undergraduate majors, including Sports Education, Social Sports Guidance and Management, and Martial Arts and Ethnic Traditional Sports, as well as three master's degree granting rights in Sports. Among them, the physical education major is a national first-class professional construction site, the social sports guidance and management major is a provincial-level first-class professional construction site, and martial arts and traditional ethnic sports are single recruitment majors.

In order to keep up with the trend of the times and keep up with the times, the School of Physical Education of Yunnan University for Nationalities plans to vigorously develop the sport of sports, striving to become a pivot for the promotion and development of sports in the southwest and even the west. In order to achieve this goal and reserve technical talents related to badminton, Yunnan University for Nationalities has applied to the Chinese Ethnic Sports Association Picking Committee for the second phase of national badminton referee training.

After receiving the application letter from the School of Physical Education of Yunnan University for Nationalities, the Chinese Ethnic Minority Sports Association Pique Committee quickly appointed the chief training mentor of the committee, Chen Han, to the school for training. Vice Dean Yu Feng of the School of Physical Education at Yunnan University for Nationalities led 13 teachers and students to participate in the entire learning and assessment process.
