Recently, the first National Pik Ball Competition of 2023 was held at the Tennis Center of the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center. This competition is a mixed team event, and the competition rules are based on the "Pickball Competition Rules (2023 Edition)" issued by the Small Ball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China. Nearly 300 people from 24 representative teams from all over the country participate in the competition, and the final champion is determined through the group stage and knockout stage. After intense competition, Guangxi Elite Pickball Club, Hubei Baonong Pickball Sports Club, and Guangzhou team won the top three in the first National Pickball Competition. Seven teams including Guizhou Pickball Team won the Spiritual Civilization Award, eight teams including Shanghai Team won the Best Struggle Award, and Guangzhou Team also won the Organizational Contribution Award.

Pik ball is an emerging sports sport that combines the characteristics of tennis, table tennis, and badminton. It is a sport of clapping the racket across the net and playing against the ball. This sport has outstanding characteristics such as net resistance, low participation threshold, easy to get started, low requirements for the field, low equipment costs, a large age range of participants, good fitness effects, and strong parent-child social entertainment and viewing value.

The significance of this competition also lies in the fact that it is the first national badminton competition organized by the Small Ball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China. On the first day of the competition, the inaugural meeting and first plenary session of the Chinese Picking Sports Working Committee were also held at the Guangdong Olympic Center. 56 representatives from sports regulatory departments, sports colleges, and local associations from various provinces, cities, autonomous regions, and cities with independent planning participated in the meeting and unanimously passed the "Picking Sports Competition Rules 2024 Edition (Trial)". The committee will promote and popularize the sport of Picking, and take the lead in developing standards, Responsible for competitions, training, scientific research, talent cultivation, external exchanges, professional and technical consulting, and playing a positive role in promoting the development of a higher-level public service system for national fitness by promoting the sport of badminton, making greater contributions to the comprehensive and healthy development of young people.

This competition is hosted by the Small Ball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, and organized by the Guangdong Provincial Social Sports and Training Competition Center and the Guangzhou Pik Ball Association.
