To further broaden the popularization and enhance the development scale of badminton, the aim was to elevate the referee standards in pickleball competitions and fortify the professionalism of pickleball events. Successfully kicking off from March 6 to March 8, 2024, the referee training course organized by the Pickleball Committee of the Chinese Ethnic Sports Association and hosted at the Nanchang Institute of Technology Station gathered a profound turnout. Led by Zhang Jun, the Vice President and Senior Training Mentor of the Pickleball Committee of the China Ethnic Sports Association, this training witnessed the participation of approximately 40 eager students.

During the comprehensive training process, Teacher Zhang Jun imparted knowledge on pickleball's background, venue equipment, etiquette, competition rules, referee processes, and event management with meticulous detail. He employed a range of teaching methods, including theoretical explanations, case studies, and hands-on practical exercises, to ensure that all students gained a thorough understanding. Additionally, he shared his personal experiences and insights from past event enforcement, providing trainees with a deeper comprehension of pickleball competition rules, the intricacies of on-site refereeing, and the essential aspects of event management.

The training atmosphere was vibrant, with students attentive and actively engaging in the learning process throughout. Upon completion, they expressed a fresh appreciation for the sport of pickleball and a keen awareness of its fun and challenges. After three intensive days of learning, a significant majority of the trainees successfully passed the assessment and emerged as the inaugural batch of CR-L1 certified referees by the Pickleball Committee of the Chinese Ethnic Sports Association in Jiangxi Province.

Meanwhile, Chairman Chen Enthusiast of the Chinese Minority Sports Association's Pickleball Committee in the United States showed immense concern and support for the training endeavors. He repeatedly inquired about the progress and even sent the latest competition rules, displaying utmost care and encouragement. Comrade Luo Shuaicheng, Dean of the School of Sports and Health at Nanchang University of Technology and also Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the Pickleball Committee, graced the occasion with his presence and delivered a speech. He heartily acknowledged the fruitful outcomes of this training and expressed sincere hopes for the students' future endeavors. This training course holds immense significance in furthering the development and popularization of badminton in China. We firmly believe that all students will indelibly remember the responsibilities and work procedures of badminton referees, enabling them to solidify and consistently enhance their professional knowledge and referee capabilities. This, in turn, will strengthen the badminton referee team, ultimately contributing to the elevation of pickleball to a higher standard.
